Varadaraja Perumaal temple, one of the celebrated Vaishnava Divya Desams,
Varadaraja Perumal temple is known as Hastigiri; it was originally known as Attiyuran. Bhutattaalwar, one of the earliest of the Alwars, has sung of this temple. The name Hastigiri is applied in the connotation of Gajendra moksham and from the legend that Indras elephant Airavatam - in the form of a hill bears the image of Vishnu. The name Attiyurar emerges from the tradition, that the original image of Varadaraja Perumaal here was made from Attimaram. This ancient wooden image is worshipped for 10 days, once in 40 years.

The Moolavar here is Varadaraja Perumal in a standing posture facing west. Perundevi Taayaar is housed in a separate temple within the complex. Other shrines here include those to Kannan, the Alwars, and the Acharyas, Ramar, Kariamanikka Perumaal, ,Andal, Varaaha Perumaal.

Garuda, the vehicle of the lord, is of special significance at this temple. The story goes that a sculptor who was creating an image of Garuda suddenly found the idol flying after he had made its wings. Shocked at this sudden action, the sculptor threw a stone at Garuda and struck him on the nose. Garuda came falling down and decided to settle here at this place and bless the devotees.

A huge and well built Lord Garuda is seen just next to Lord Srinivasa’s Sannidhi. In the Tamil month of Aadi, Thiru Naraiyur Nambi makes a visit to Garuda’s Sannidhi.

A magical event during Garuda Sevai - Garuda increases in weight manifoldDuring street procession (Margazhi and Panguni), an unbelievable event takes place at the Nachiyar Koil. While only 4 people carry Lord Garuda out of his Sannidhi, as the Lord goes out of each Layer and prakaram, he is said to increase in weight, that 8 people, 16 and then 32 people are required to carry Lord Garuda out of the temple. Finally, when the Lord is taken outside the temple, Garuda increases in weight so much that 128 people are required to carry the Lord. On his way back, it is said that Garuda mount decreases in weight and finally when he is back in the Sannidhi, only 4 people are required to carry him.

Vadakku thiruveedhi pillai was disciple of Nampillai also known as Ulagaria (Lokacharya). Once Nampillai enquired mother of Vadakku tiruveedhi pilai about welface of her son. He found the disciple is not having happy family life. Nampillai advised him that SAMSARA does not effect VAIRAGYA and brought happiness to their family. Subsequently Vadakku tiruveedhi pilaai and his wife were blessed with a son and named him after Nampillai as LOKACHARYA
Lokacharya lived in Srirangam maintaining Emperumanar's Darsana. When the islamic invasion of the city occured, to save the temple and Periya Perumal, His sannidhi was covered with brick stones and a different vigraha was kept in front. Pillai Lokacharya left Srirangam along with Namperumal and Naccimars ahead of the invasion. While going through a forest they were attacked by thieves who stole all the jewellery and vessels of Namperumal. Pillai Lokacharya was happy that they left Namperumal with him and reached a small town called Jyothishkudi. Here Pillai Lokacharya fell ill and reached His lotus feet. He advised his disciples Koorakuloththama Dasa and Vilanjsolai Pillai that Srisailesa was working for the king at Madurai and that they should bring him back into the Srivaishnava fold so that he could lead the darsanam. Later Srisailesa was guru of Manavala Mahamunigal.
Lokasharya composed Ashtadasa Rahasyam which is a phenomenal collection of the meanings of rahasya granthas. He is also the author of Mumukshuppadi

Value of micro second

value of a micro seconds,
i myself an athelete ...i use to participate in 100M , & 4*100M relay,by that time i was doin my 11th standard...we had a bunch of people from my school to participate in the athletic event ...conducted for the atheletes all over state(tamilnadu)...i could see people from various district...
and i was very excited to participate in such a arena...
where one can find lot of girls and im not a very good boy!!!!!...i too like & love to be hero in front of girls..
there i was representing my school and all the eyes both for girls & boys looking at me..
cos im there cos i won lot of medal in 100M with a very good time of 10.35 sec (only sports person can understand)
there when i entered the rubber track....first time im seeing it...
i have a habit of walking in the track before running...just the same i had a glance at the track..
then we had the race to begin, many race went mine was the third event..
i was more eager, exited, thrilled, but also in fear ...i have a very bad habit of thinking of loosing before even starting..
i took my mark...i could see guys from all the district next to me..i forget to tell you i was 16 by that time..but i was representing fro under 14.
every one next to me are elder some are of same age..
but still i had a belief in my foot steps..i started pretty well and almost near to the line... but there was the twist..
i saw my guys cheering for me..that moment a guy crossed me ...i was moved from 1st to 2nd position..
there came the results i got 2nd position as all know ...i was happy i will selected for finals ...
but there when the announcement came ..i was crying lying down the chairs in the stadium..
that day i lost the selection by 0.2 micro seconds,... from that time ..i had a great respect to time...
never waste a single second...na na single micro seconds...
which pays you a lot in life.....

feel the heat on a hot day

that was very strong still i feel the heat ...it was the day ...which made me to think i should have told her not to do it in public...everyone was looking why she is doing like this,
even i din expect that from her..she is not such a kind of person...that moment i was very angry...
before i could stop her she gave me another one...not stopping with the one..
i felt she is not reponding to my word,doing as to her wish...that was relly hard at me... i know that was not intentional..
i know she has lot of affection, love, towards me..but it is going like anything thought if it continues for few minitus i will be in heaven(death)

life such a small duration to live, love, hate...where you dont find time to see that life, what kind of life you are living,ask this to yourself ...then you will realiseonly time you think of your life...when you have some problem and you are not able to face it..there you such a beautiful thing is life...just look behind the path you crossed, it is such a wonderful thing which keeps you remembering the bad times you had,but, on one hand it is relly good, because you keep thinking about the after effects,lets now think how to lead a life...it is such a simple thing...life....love involve feel enjoy...if you where looking at a life which always gives you pleasure...then yu have to follow the guideliness saying try to love your life...which gives you an involvement and then you will start to feel what is life,once you are in a position of understanding the situation ..then you will automatically enjoy it..either it is good or bad...if good comes...enjoy as you got something good..if bad comes, enjoy as you had faced the bad....so, next is the good thing,like ways every time you think of life...you learn something,the beauty of life is that you never know when it ends,think of the scene you know when your life ends,there starts the climax..the point which you start to hate your life,bcos you wish and delebrately want to live you life..
thinking of life...even that second could be the end of my life...such a beautiful thing we have..but only very few knows it..
every one knows there starting point..lets look out for the end point..
but as every one says point has no end...it depends on each prespective...
there we understand...every starting is a ending point of another...every ending is the starting point of another..
so, lets change the way we look in to our life......

Mother

there is nothing much to talk ..but still daily i call her,

every time she scolds me i wont take it serious,

it is like a bird which is flying for hours and reached the nest,

i will be as happy as the bird when i see her,

she is the one who loves me so much , acually speaking i love her a lot ...

i have'nt told her ... lets see when is the time to tell her..

i wonder why she is sayin lies when it comes to me... (you are looking good)

i feel the best word in english to my heart,
this is the word which takes you close to other person heart,
you need lot of courage to say this word,
very fluently you can say other words,
but, not this word, every time you say you feel it,
lovely word to strengthen your relationship,
Only a person is really strongth in his mind can say this word,
if a person say that word, then he is a person who thinks of the future,
a person who is ready to say that word is a good human.
